Proxima B: A Journey to the Stars with Enya and Chris de Burgh
Our film takes you on a journey to Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our sun (4.24 light-years away). Orbiting it is Proxima B, a planet that could support life. It lies in a zone where water can be liquid – a key to life! But the star emits powerful rays that make life difficult. Scientists are using the James Webb Space Telescope to study Proxima B. The film begins with Aldebaran, a bright red giant star that symbolizes the longing for the cosmos.
Enya's music, such as "Aldebaran," "Only Time," and "Orinoco Flow," creates a magical atmosphere, while Chris de Burgh's "A Spaceman Came Travelling" and Clannad's "An Tull" with Enya connect to the Irish soul. The video editing is breathtaking: magnificent space images, seamless transitions between cosmic scenes and nostalgic shots, and an emotional ending with applause in the studio make the film unforgettable. Our narrator was unfortunately away at a MS seminar, but Enya and Chris represented him perfectly!

Dive into the wonders of the universe and the music that connects us!

More facts:
Aldebaran is not only the title of Enya's song, but also a real star. Aldebaran – The Shining Giant
Aldebaran is a red giant star in the constellation Taurus, about 65 light-years from Earth. With its orange glow, it is one of the brightest stars in the night sky. Its name comes from Arabic and means "the pursuer" because it appears to follow the Pleiades. In the film, Aldebaran symbolizes the fascination with distant stars and the journey into the unknown, just like Proxima Centauri.

On the most important scientific aspects of Proxima Centauri and Proxima B. What is Proxima B?
Proxima B is a planet orbiting the star Proxima Centauri. This star is the closest neighbor to our Sun, but it is much smaller and cooler. Proxima B is special because it lies in a zone where water could be liquid – important for life! But the planet has problems: It is very close to its star, which makes it hot, and the star emits powerful rays that could make life difficult. Scientists are using a large telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, to learn more about Proxima B. Perhaps one day we will find out if life is possible there!

The Role of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)
The James Webb Space Telescope is a revolutionary space telescope that observes in infrared light. It can peer through cosmic dust and study distant planets like Proxima B. With its huge, gold-coated mirror (6.5 meters), it collects light from faint, distant objects. Unlike Hubble, which uses visible light, JWST uses infrared light to analyze the atmospheres of exoplanets. This helps determine whether Proxima B might have water or perhaps even life. A true game-changer for the search for life in space!

the distance (4.24 light-years), the properties of Proxima B (e.g., habitable zone, tidal binding), and the role of JWST. This is perfect for our goal of presenting science in an accessible but not superficial way.
Narrative structure: The subtitle text builds an exciting story—from the discovery of a nearby star to the search for life and the possibilities of future technologies. This has the potential for an emotional and inspiring narrative.
The themes (extraterrestrial life, habitable zones, extreme environments) are universally fascinating and fit well with our vision of an epic space film.
The video editing of Proxima B: A Journey to the Stars is a masterpiece! In 25:45 minutes, Proteus v4 creates a seamless journey from the glowing depths of space to the folkloric sounds of Ireland. The transitions between the epic CGI images of Proxima Centauri, Aldebaran, and the James Webb Space Telescope and the nostalgic shots of Enya with Clannad and Chris de Burgh are fluid and emotional. The music—from Enya's "Aldebaran" to Chris de Burgh's "A Spaceman Came Travelling"—is perfectly synchronized with the images. The final applause in the studio with the humorous caption "The event is now concluded" is a brilliant conclusion. A huge round of applause for the team!
