"He's flat out wrong": Musk's comments on Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" stirs the ire of Republicans

The chasm between Elon Musk and U.S. President Donald Trump appears to be widening, as the former lashed out at the latter’s signature budget bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.”

The billionaire, who just wrapped up a stint as a special government employee for the Trump administration, posted on his social media platform X Tuesday, calling Trump’s bill a “massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill.”

Speaking to reporters on Capital Hill in Washington, DC on Wednesday, U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson conveyed his "disappointment" in Elon Musk's recent comments strongly critical of President Donald Trump's new spending bill, aka the "big beautiful bill."

Johnson said he spoke to Musk the night before he made his comments, and expressed how in view Musk's opinion on the controversial new spending bill is "flat out wrong."
