Many people who read it, and study psychiatry to become psychiatrists take in the information without questioning where it came from. Which is fascinating because a lot of these labels of mental illnesses in the DSM are literally made up.

It’s based on unscientific methods that people just observed and said, oh, we're going to call it this. We're going to call this bipolar; we're going to call this borderline personality.

So many of these personality disorders are made up and then people believe that mental illness is [biological] and caused by chemical imbalances in the brain, which can then be helped via pharmaceutical drugs.”
