In this chapter, we continue the story of Israel taking land in the TransJordan, on the east side of the river.

We get more details about the people they conquered (lead by giants perhaps) and another shout out to Jair, for what he did to take the land of Bashan.

I enjoy read the spoken dialogue between Moses and God that wasn't covered in Numbers. Moses would indeed not cross over the Jordan and see the promised land, but Joshua was named again as his successor.
