Russia Ukraine War: Russia launched a massive overnight airstrike on Kyiv, deploying Shahed drones and Kalibr cruise missiles in one of the most intense bombardments in recent months. At least four civilians were killed and 20 wounded as explosions rocked Ukraine’s capital, igniting fires and damaging key infrastructure, including metro lines and residential buildings.

The attack came just hours after a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, in which Putin reportedly vowed retaliation for Ukraine’s drone strike on Russian strategic bombers. Russia’s TU-95MS bombers were seen launching cruise missiles, triggering air raid alerts across the country.

Explosions were also reported in Lviv, Ternopil, Lutsk, and Khmelnytskyi as Russia appeared to target Ukraine’s energy and transportation networks. Thousands of homes in Kyiv were left without electricity, and several city districts were struck by drones and missile debris, prompting ongoing rescue operations.
