President Donald Trump joked that Germany should maybe stop rearming, “at least to a certain point,” during his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz yesterday. Trump said that General MacArthur probably would not have viewed German rearmament as a “positive” thing, but that at the moment he thinks “it’s a good thing.” The president is aware of Germany’s history and that should be a powerful warning to him. Instead, he’s ignoring the warning.

President Trump and Elon Musk had a “big, beautiful” breakup yesterday for the entire world to see. In the midst of several crises, Musk and Trump bickered about petty personal differences on social media. The spat revealed just how vain and childish America’s leaders have become.
