Welcome to album review Tuesdays here on the channel and tonight I am doing another subscriber request and this one comes from my friend Josh who asked me if I would review Unrelenting Force-Indoctrinate. So that’s what im talking about here tonight and before we get into the review I am going to give you guys some background origin on the band and then we will talk about this album and my thoughts on it!

Well since this bio is almost non-existent there isn’t very much background available. Unrelenting force is a thrash metal band from New York city and formed back in 2014 and have released one album independently called Indoctrinate in 2017 on Cd and digitally. Other than that? I cannot find any information the bands origin, how long they have been playing together, if there have been any line-up changes or anything else. So lets just move onto the lineup

Joe Addabbo Bass
Roach McPoach Drums
Vince Scotti Guitars
Walter Cardenas Guitars
Andreas Fortes Vocals
So lets get into the review now shall we?

The album opens up with the title track Indoctrinate and right away they waste absolutely no time breaking into their frantic fast, blasting aggressive thrash metal with some extremely fast riffing, great bass and double bass drumming and blast beats that give this track an very powerful violence and engaging rhythm section that immediately makes you feel the power and aggression as well as the powerful emotions that are emitting from this fucking song. Great lead sections do a nice build up into a fast paced sizzling guitar solo before it breaks back into the main riff section again and there is some amazing writing happening here as well and it’s a killer fucking opening track, one thing im also going to note here is the raw 80s style production that harkens back to the old school of bands like Kreator, Sodom, and Exodus and that’s what I would definitely cite as their main influences here because there is definitely a lot of worship going on here of the 3 bands I just mentioned! Killer opener guys!

Next up is Pathos and theres some great fast thrashing going on in this one as well with some really great melodies and groove going on in this one that has an intense hardcore edge to it, especially in the vocals as he really reminds me of the dude from Meshuggah, and the crossover elements are very apparent in this one as it feels like a cross between exodus and D.R.I in a lot of ways but this is by no means a bad thing and its actually a really refreshing take on the new wave of thrash metal with that crossover edge being utilized and worked with perfection. The lyrics are powerful and profound on this track as well! Another great song that combines crossover/thrash really fucking well!

Next up is Elixir of Pain and we get more frantic blasting and sonic chaos but again with a deep hardcore edge to it as this crossover thrash metal epic reaches faster speeds and tempos with incredible frantic blast beats that make you bang your head with aggression and frantic anger and power. This offers up the best of both worlds again and I love the hardcore crossover elements they offer up on this one along with some really innovative riffing and of course that hardcore edge style vocals that really make this song hit you in all the right ways… This is another fucking amazing track guys!
