Welcome to album review Tuesdays here on the channel! So tonight I am doing another subscriber request once again and this one comes courtesy of the user “Hunt Season” and he asked if I would review Mutilation-Majestas Leprosus and I am excited for this one because I love Mutilation and they are one of the greats in French black metal in my opinion and I have listened to a lot of their music but I have yet to acquire any of their albums but that will be changing very soon so I will be bringing some more reviews of this band to the channel! Majestas Leprosus was released in 2003 on Ordealis Records and was limited to 2000 copies. Now before we get into the review let me give you some background on Mutiliation and then we will get into the review.

Mütiilation was founded in 1991 by Meyhna'ch, drummer Dark Wizard of Silence and bassist David. They recorded a few demos as a trio until 1993, when David left due to Mütiilation becoming the first band of the Black Legions. At this time, Mütiilation released an EP to honor the circle titled Hail Satanas We Are The Black Legions. I would call Mutiilation’s music a combination of Satanic/Depressive Black metal because it has a lot of both elements that make up the 2 genres for sure. Now while this might seem uncommon or almost at odds? IN mutiilations case it works very well and he certainly knows how to execute the 2 genres and get his emotions and concepts across quite effectively.

Shortly after, Dark Wizzard of Silence was replaced by Krissagrazabeth, who recorded with the band up to Vampires of Black Imperial Blood. Once again, he left due to disagreements with the Black Legions. On the contrary, Mørdrëd, who played bass, was properly admitted into the circle; this line-up was featured in The Black Plague - First Chapter (And Maybe Last One)

Mütiilation belonged to The Black Legions (Les Légions Noires) along with Belkètre, Black Murder, Vlad Tepes and others, before separating circa 1996 and dissolving, before reforming in 2000.

The band played two shows in the summer of 2001: the first on June 23rd at the Drakkar Hellfest in Marseille, France; the second on July 7th at the Under the Black Sun Festival in Germendorf, Germany. Both were bootlegged by Wargeist Productions under the title Desecrate Jesus' Name (CD + DVD, in DVD case), limited to 100 hand-numbered copies with no extras. A full European tour had originally been booked but was abandoned.

Founder Meyhna'ch decided to split-up the band on December 8, 2009. Mütiilation ended as a one-man project, even if other members were involved in the band in the past. Members of Celestia used to play instruments live.

in 1999 Drakkar Productions released a compilation of unreleased material, Remains of a Ruined, Dead, Cursed Soul. The album stated that Meyhna'ch was "dead" due to disgust with the black metal scene. However, in 2001, Mütiilation came back with the release of Black Millenium (Grimly Reborn), with another scathing message against the scene. At this point the band had become a solo project, and Meyhna'ch still used the Black Legions' emblem on some releases.

TND played bass at the gig in Marseille yet could not perform in Germendorf. A second Mütiilation tour was booked for 2015, but this one too was cancelled. Only a single date was played on June 20th at Hellfest in Clisson, France. Despite this, 2015 saw Mütiilation rise again but Meyhna'ch declared in the fall of 2017 this project to be "definitely dead".
