tonights review is of my favorite more modern death metal band with Cattle Decapitation-The Harvest Floor. I just want to say thank you to my good friend over at King Of Swords, Mike Ross for sending this out to me many i truly appreciate it. Ill be sending you out a package next week as well.

Now as some of you may or may not know. Cattle Decapitation formed in 1996 in San Diego California and the band has a quite large fanbase among animal rights/liberation supporters due to their beliefs, album covers, and lyrics, which usually focus on prioritizing animals over human life. The band originally consisted of all vegetarians, but Josh Elmore and Travis Ryan are the only vegetarians of the band now. I am not sure if the other members are leaning towards becoming vegetarians but be rest assured im damn sure it's inevitable.

The lineup right now is as follows:
Travis Ryan Vocals (1997-present)
Josh Elmore Guitars (lead) (2001-present)
David McGraw Drums (2007-present)
Olivier Pinard Bass (2018-present)
Belisario Dimuzio Guitars (rhythm) (2018-present)

So the album opens with the absolute monolithic beast "The Gardeners Of Eden" and we hear the sounds of the slaughterhouse combined with human screams before it absolutely bombards us with blasting insanity and some of the most viscerally violent guitar riffs and bass with Travis Ryan going off like a voice of the fallen creatures of the earth crying out for revenge against our horrible human activities and atrocities that we commit against nature. This track is fucking brutal and uncompromising and the lyrics on this one are all about the fallacies of god and his supposed perfect creation "the human race" but it also alludes to us being forever damned and condemned because of our actions and greed. One thing i must note here is the fucking gravity beats from David Mcgraw, and he is an absolute fucking machine gun on the kit on this album! This is a killer fucking opener!

Next up we have the track "A Body Farm" and of course another blasting skull crushing exercise of complete brutality and misanthropy pushed to its most extreme bounderies here. The drumming, bass, riffing and vocals are violent, visceral and absolutely filled with raw emotion, passion and conviction about what Cattle Decapitation are trying to get across with this fucking album and they definitely do it with incredible effectiveness here and im very impressed with this record. Now this was the time when they began to also transform from Deathgrind into more progressive death metal which in my opinion showed hints of itself on this album before fully taking shape on 2012's Monolith Of Inhumanity. Lyrically this one is all about revenge on humanity and putting people through the same disgusting vile and violent abuse that animals suffer from everyday in the horrors of the animal industry and its crafted immaculately here. Another killer song guys!

Next up we have "We are horrible people" and this one starts off with awesome bass and brutality once again and just rips off your face at full fucking force with no signs of mercy or slowing down. The sheer velocity of this album is absolutely astounding because the riffs and drumming, bass and vocals really convey the horrifying realities of the fantasies of putting humans through the same situations as the animal industry and you know what? im perfectly fine with this because in my opinion it's time for people to wake up to the realities of the pain and abuse and terror that animals are subjected to on a daily basis with no choice and no freedom. Lyrically this one is all about how horrible the human race is and our instinct to destroy nature and everything that we touch all in the name of greed, profit and our delusions of self importance and how stupid this perception is... Another awesome song here as well!

Next up we have the absolute brutal banger with the title track "Tooth enamel and concrete" which has tons of brutal short blasting sections with soaring riff passages that give visions of human suffering and cacophonic brutal vocals and bass that just shatters the ground around you! With no attention to detail being overlooked here the entire package and aesthetics and ideas being explored on this album are crafted with precision and Bone chilling effectiveness at really making the listener feel cattle decapitations message and the various emotions and extreme ideas and concepts that are being explored here and they do a fucking hell of a job at it! killer song here as well!
