Trump dismissed the claims as "old news." Vice-President JD Vance echoed support for Trump, saying Musk had “gone nuclear” and may not be able to reconcile with the Republican Party. The fallout stems from Musk’s harsh critique of the GOP’s flagship “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which he called a “disgusting abomination” while suggesting a centrist political alternative. Trump, however, remained confident the bill would pass, claiming Musk’s attacks had increased public support.
