Your Kids Are Watching: Why Changing Your Self-Talk Matters

We all talk to ourselves — but are you teaching your kids to hate themselves without even knowing it?

In this powerful, raw video, I open up about my own struggle with negative self-talk, the echoes of my father’s voice, and how it’s shaping my life—and my kids’ lives.

This is about more than just words. It’s about breaking generational cycles and building a legacy of confidence, compassion, and resilience.

Inside:
✅ How your self-talk shapes your actions — and how your kids learn by watching you.
✅ Why the first step is not always positive self-talk — but just stopping the negative.
✅ The truth: your kids don’t just hear your words — they see you.
✅ The powerful link between self-talk, fatherhood, and generational change.

If you want to raise kids who know how to love themselves, it starts with you.

Well, I haven't got that far yet. I'm not self-supporting in my self-talk. I'm just abstaining from negative self-talk. I can't disagree with what you're saying. I just can't speak to authority on it because I haven't experienced it. Is this something you want to experience? Eventually, sure. I mean, for me, it's my kids, right? I don't want my kids to grow up and hate on themselves. And a lot of my own self-negativity is done in my father's voice. And I don't want that to be in theirs. Yeah, man. This is part of the forcing function for me to change. They don't just hear what you say. They see you, brother. And they know more than you think they do.
