In the Bible, both "agape" and "phileo" are used to describe love, but they differ in their nature and scope. In this instance it is used interchangeably or as synonym. Beware of those priests, pastors & teachers who misteach this passage in the Bible which leads to CONTRADICTIONS in the Bible and calls into question the type of love between The FATHER and The SON and then also implying by their explanation that Jesus is settling with Peter for something less than a self sacrificial love!?
