Day of Pentecost, a significant moment in the early Christian church. On the day of Pentecost, the apostles and other followers of Jesus were gathered together in one place. Suddenly, a sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the house, and tongues of fire appeared and rested on each of them. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them. This miraculous event drew a large crowd of devout Jews from various nations, who were in Jerusalem for the festival. They were bewildered to hear the apostles speaking in their own languages, declaring the wonders of God. Some onlookers were amazed, while others mocked, suggesting the apostles were drunk. In response, Peter stood up to address the crowd, explaining that this was the fulfillment of the prophecy from the Book of Joel, where God promised to pour out His Spirit on all people. Peter emphasized that these events were part of God's divine plan and marked the beginning of the last days, urging the crowd to call on the name of the Lord for salvation.
