In the 1800s, heart disease was virtually unheard of.

In the 1900s, heart disease became the leading cause of death. Prior to that, it was infections.

By 2010, heart disease accounted for 32% of all deaths.

Currently, 1.1 million people in the USA experience an acute heart attack. 35% of these will die.
