Sermon on Luke 11:1-4 - Lords Day June 8th,, 2025 - Trinity Reformed Church

Pray from the heart. It needs to be genuine. Prayers get our priorities right. Hallowed - God is infinitely Holy. Properly praise Him for who He is. Prayers perspective of purpose: thy kingdom come. The concept of the coming kingdom weaves itself prominently through the whole Bible. Jesus is always preaching about the kingdom. The promises of the kingdom is being fulfilled in the preaching of the gospel. Acts 2 on the day of pentecost. Acts 2:33,36 He is the messiah, Acts 3 what all the prophets have pronounced before. Act 3:24, Acts 13:22-23, 26 - promise is fulfilled. Acts 15. We are praying your kingdom come in Christians fully believing. Praying your kingdom come on the earth.

In Christian submission: pray that Gods kingdom will come into your own heart.

Pray thy kingdom come in this world: go out and preach the gospel.

Pray that Gods kingdom would come visibly: for the fullness of the kingdom. The removal of our sin and all sin. 2 Tim 4:1, Heb 12:28, 1 Cor 15:24

Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”

“And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—”
