In the 1920s, the trance medium Edgar Cayce who was also called the Sleeping Prophet, said this about the end times of Atlantis.

He described a group of beings he called the Sons (and daughters) of Belial who used their knowledge and abilities for selfish purposes, accumulating power and wealth while disregarding the well-being of others.
