The apostle Paul was under house arrest in Rome. A prisoner in chains, not to Roman guards, but to Jesus Christ. What was Paul's great concern? Paul was not concerned about being released from Romans imprisonment. He was concerned for the believers in the churches he had established. Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians and Philemon would be penned while he was in chains. Today we begin our study of the letter to the Ephesians. Ephesians is the companion letter to Colossians, which exalts Jesus Christ as preeminent, above all, the Head of the Body of Christ, the church. Ephesians focuses on the Body of Christ, how we are to live in such a way that brings glory to out Head, Jesus Christ. Today we lay a foundation for the study of this amazingly profound letter!
