‘Lumines Arise’ - Reveal Trailer

Lumines Arise was announced during the recent Summer Game Fest stream. The original Lumines released over 20 years ago in 2004 on the PlayStation Portable. It’s a match-3 puzzler where you try to arrange blocks into a 2×2 square and rack up points. What sets Lumines apart from other puzzlers are its visuals and superb soundtrack that really adds to the experience.

Enter developer Enhance Experience who made the very well-received Tetris Effect in 2018. They’re taking the Lumines formula and adding their own visual, aural, and mechanical enhancements to take Lumines’ gameplay to the next level. They’re promising 30 levels and a Burst mechanic that allows you to pause the timeline and make your 2×2 block bigger for a higher score. Plus, the soundtrack is being composed by Hydelic, who also composed the music for Tetris Effect.

LUMINES REMASTERED can be played on modern platforms right now and is worth checking out. Lumines Arise releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, Steam VR, and PC in fall of 2025.
