Now as you may or may not know Acid Bath had a pretty short lived musical career due to the unfortunate death of long time friend and bassist, Audie Pitre who was tragically killed in a car accident. R.I.P Audie you will be missed. I personally think that if Audie was still alive that Acid Bath would be a very well established and very successful band much like EYEHATEGOD,DOWN,SOILENT GREEN, etc. By the way i am also going to be reviewing Dax Rigg's other project "SHRUM" very soon as well and if you haven't heard that album? go and check it out after this video!

Now the question many people had about this follow up was will it be as good or better than "When The Kite String Pops? well, in my honest opinion i think its an equally good record. The main difference on this one is that the music feels alot more claustrophobic and terrifying through the mind of its creators.

This isn't the same trip this time around as this one plummets you deep into its black dark psychedelic alien world full of mishapen entities and vivid nightmarish scenery. Complex and surrealstic riffing gives way to absolutely devastatingly harsh vocals spewing bile into the microphone that are filled with torment and insanity. The bass and drumming only make it sound alot more intense as well as each song is like a chapter of this vicious downard spiral into drug riddeled confusion, paranoia, fear, anger and rage. This is not an easy listen at all and I think that some of the music offered here is not going to be very well understood at all.

Acid bath were never one to compromise on their approach and overall insane methods of composing art and it definitely leaks into the music itself as alot of whats being presented here is very disporportionate but it also fits together so godamned well. However it also sounds like it could all fall apart at any moment. The fragility of Dax's sanity is on full display through his vocals and the pain and anguish that he feels is so powerful that it will hit you in ways you never thought possible..

The ethereal atmosphere in the music and Dax's vocals is just spellbinding on this record and I honestly cannot help but get drawn into this album and think of nothing else because thats how captivating this music is.

"Bleed me an ocean" is the next chapter of this suicidal trip into psychedelic blackness that confuses and perplexes your emotional states as its alien world and concepts will definitely test your sanity and things that you never thought before. The coldness and darkness of this record is impeccable and it's genuine emotional delivery is just immaculately crafted within its black walls of hallucinatory dripping atmosphere. The slower parts of the song remind me a black night deep in the southern bayou drenched in sweat and confusion from the drug induced psychedelic insanity that this record is so godamned good at emitting and it does this in spades.
