So todays review is of a HAUNT-Luminous Eyes. Now this is an EP from Trevor William Church who is also in Beastmaker and i have heard some pretty amazing things about those guys as well so you can expect me to review them here on the channel as well!

Haunt are part of the NWOTHM out of Fresno California. Now the lineup on this album is as follows Lineup:
Trevor William Church - Vocals, Guitars, Bass
Daniel Wilson - Drums

I want to give a big thank you to Justin of Acid metal for sending me this album i really appreciate it man. I will be getting your cd out at the end of feb. I am going to send you my extra copy of Draugar-From Which Hatred grows.

Now, what we have here with Haunt-Luminous Eyes is nothing short of Magnificence in the NWOTHM and its so awesome to see bands doing this style the justice that it deserves because without the NWOBHM metal would never have exploded into what it has become today. With so many sub genres and directions of this music exploding in popularity and trends comes along a band like HAUNT.

They instantly remind me of Black Sabbath, DIO and Iron Maiden. Power metal elements are abundantly on display here and its so refreshing and enchanting in all of the right ways and aspects. The production is also old school and instantly reminds me of the 80s when metal still sounded organic and so natural. The identity that comes with a band when they use production of this caliber immediately seperates them from everyone else.

I can honestly say that I haven't heard anything like HAUNT for a really long time and i am very impressed with the concepts, riffing, emotions, production and overall direction of this offering. The soundscapes and passages make you feel like your flying amongst the cosmos being freed by the musics epic and enchanting embrace.

There are alot of Traditional metal meets power metal elements being emphasized here and it works so godamned well that this might as well be an instant classic and i can easily see it becoming one amongst fans of this old school traditional metal style and fans are going to be pleasantly surprised with this offering.

The sabbath influence is undeniable both in the song writing and vocals from trevor. The soaring chorus harmonies are full of real emotion and honesty and the music reflects a time when metal was not about fame or fortune but about making a statement and expressing what you truly felt inside while you were composing your music. Haunt gives me those feelings of nostalgia and honesty.

These riffs and drums and bass are immaculately crafted with so much harmony and hook inducing melodies that they will make you feel like your time travelling across the cosmos back into simpler times when the world wasn't so fast paced and hectic.

What the hell happened to music guys, and where are more bands like these guys honestly? There are also alot of hard rock ingredients here too that combine so well with the harder metal elements and it really gives the music such a flawless appeal and overall statement. This is catchy and incredibly hook inducing power/traditional metal with alot of hard rock elements here guys and if you haven't heard this band yet... well what the hell are you waiting for?

Even though this is an EP this is the birth of something magical and HAUNT is destined to get absolutely massive because of everything that they do right and the originality that's present here is very fresh in a time when being "brutal and gory" seems to be the thing thats grabbing peoples attention these days, well newslfash everyone... its nothing compared to something like this and it never will be in my eyes. Trends will never triumph over what's real and what we have here is whats real and you can feel it and hear it with Haunt's Luminous Eyes.
