Alright so the Album opens with "Domination" and the violence immediately begins with pummeling blast beats and guttural vocals that you can actually understand thank god! The bass can be heard so fucking well here as well. The guitar riffs are just drenched in flith and vile savagery as well. Davids vocals are immaculate here too and often conjure up images of hellfire and domination of all things demonic.. Emotionally its full of darkness and supremacy reigning down on christian faith and all of its subservent scum, it also has some really groovy slowed down death metal passages with a killer solo which round out the brutality nicely and give it a nice balance and variety!make this is a very killer opener to this record guys.

next up we have "Where The Slime Live" which opts for a slower pace but still has plenty of double bass brutality to keep this groove from ever seeming like it's opting out of morbid angels trademark brutality. Make no mistake about this album, even though they experimented a bit more on this record then say on albums like "Alters of madness" or "Blessed Are The Sick" The old school Death Metal approach that they became famous for is still very much intact on this record and im not really sure why so many people didn't like this album.

This is a slower burn of a song but the double bass, bass guitar, and riffs are steeped in putrid vile flith and swirl like a stench of rot and keep this atmosphere very much raw and putrid, but also has a very occult ancient feel to the direction of the music itself. One thing i will also note here is the production, its fucking dirty and muddy the way Death Metal should sound, none of that super clean production to be found here guys. This is such a great song and has so many memorable moments on it in my opinion with an absolute stellar solo rounding things off nicely! Killer track here as well! Emotionally and lyrically this one is all about the slime of christianity and all of its false indoctrinations and lies of the church and all of its corruption and degredation upon the moral code of the masses.

Next up is "Eyes To See, Ears to hear" Another double bass driven brutal masterpiece with a mid tempo stomping with double bass making its appearance throughout the entire track. The riffing on this one is very crushing but also has some amazing grooves to it and some infectiously catchy rythm sections that make Morbid Angel so fucking incredible.

But this is not friendly death metal so don't get "catchy" confused with accessibility because this is still very much a death metal record in all of its ferocity. One thing they opted for on this album was a far more open minded approach rather than just straight up blasting and relentless punishment. Groovy and pulse pounding but also atmospheric and unapologetically so. This is what really makes this album stand out. Of course many will cite their 1st 2 full lengths (along with the demos) as the "True Morbid Angel" era.
