Texas Voodoo Stomp are from El Paso Texas and were formed in January of 2017 by Joe "Razor" Rodriguez whos on vocals and bass (Joe also does vocals for Pissing Razors) and Sal Porras on drums. Rick Brooks-Guitars joined in nov of 2016 and Danny Chavez Jr-Guitars joined in nov of 2017. DUST TO DUST was released in Dec of 2018

Robb from the famous Robb’s MetalWorks show described the band's sound as “utterly amazing, delivering a blend of mid-tempo, heavy groove, reminiscent of early Corrosion of Conformity or Down!” The bonus to this interview with Robb is Byron from God Forbid making a guest appearance & joining the interview! They were showcased on the "Ouch You're On My Hair" podcast which featured the interview of Perry Richardson of STRYPER. This interview was picked up by Blabbermouth & the podcast link was posted on their website. Randy Helms and Troy Nelson, podcast founders & announcers state "They play loud and hard. It's a big sound." They compare the band’s sound and influence to that of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Black Label Society, Crowbar, and Clutch. And in my opinion that is just awesome!

Alright so the EP opens with the title track "Dust To Dust" and it opens with some really great tom work and some pretty dark melancholic guitar work and im guessing this is a song about loss and death. The riffs and sad overtones really emphasize the deep emotion on this song. I am also guessing that the EP is all about loss that each of the members experienced at some point in their lives.. Perhaps a family member or friend? The riffing is very powerful and the bass can be heard so great here as well with some killer drum work going on from Sal. Guitar work from Danny and Rick is top notch on this song and it is very infectious with its groovy hooks that pull you in and don't let go. The vocal harmonies from Joe are incredible and he has great range on this track, He can go from deep heartfelt screams of pain and rage right into some soaring genuine singing that is very powerful and genuine! this is a killer opener for this E.P!

Next up we have the track "Evil Magic" and this one has a really awesome southern blues groove happening combined with some great sludging riffs going on here as well. Joe has some really great vocal effects happening in this track as well. This is sludgy and boggy crawling groove metal going on here and one thing i will say is that this is a very unique band and they have a bright future ahead of them if they continue making this kind of unique brand of groove metal. Alot of that 70s southern texas blues can be found all over these incredible riffs and its easy to see that these guys had unique ideas right from day 1. In a day and age when so many fucking bands want to recycle one anothers formulas, comes along a band like Texas Voodoo stomp that kicks the fucking door in and says "hey guess what, we aren't like anyone else out there so fucking listen" and thats exactly the feeling you get from this track and this E.P for sure.

The EP closes with "Cold And Withered" and it opens with some really powerful groove/sludge riffing that has some really great underlying bass lines as well. This is another slower melancholic song with alot of deep emotional peaks and valleys. Joe's vocals once again are just so godamned good and very fucking genuine ladies and gentleman. This is a heavy powerful song that instantly conveys the deep meaning and sorrow that this EP is comprised of and even the cleaner slower parts are very powerful and will make you reflect on the pain and loss that these songs are comprised of here!
