Alachua County, Florida – On June 29, 2024 police respond to a shoplifting call at the mall. The shoplifters fled to the parking lot and entered a BMW SUV. When police locate the BMW and attempt to pull it over, the two shoplifters flee on foot, leaving the driver in the vehicle, who claimed the pair jumped in her vehicle and held her at knife-point to drive away. The runaway shoplifters are caught by police and it is revealed the carjacking was completely made up. The three females end up all being close friends and were each trying to spare themselves from arrest. Multiple charges are filed on each of the women with a total value of stolen items $1210.00 US currency.
