The CCP’s Party Elders—a group of retired senior leaders who pull the strings behind the scenes—are now looking for someone to replace Xi Jinping. Reports say they’ve set their sights on Wang Yang, the former Vice Premier and head of the CPPCC. But Wang isn’t eager to take the job and has reportedly made three demands to the Party Elders. So, who is Wang Yang? How is he different from Xi Jinping—and what exactly are his demands?
