The Q-ELKC, (El Paso - Kansas City) intermodal runs weekly over Raton Pass. On this weeks train there are five cowl locomotives.

The lead unit is F45u 5980 of the 5950 Class.
The second unit SDP40Fu 5267 of the 5250 Class.
The third unit is F45u 5983 of the 5950 Class. it is being towed to Argentine Yard to get new air horns and number board assembly installed.
The fourth unit is FP45u 5991 OF THE 5990 Class. It is also being towed to Argentine for repairs.
The fifth unit is SDP40Fu 5254 of the 5250 Class.

The two units being towed add almost 800 tons to the trains tonnage. So the three powered units will need all of their horsepower on the climb over Raton Pass.

At the end of the train has two fluted passenger cars. The first car is a Budd 52-seat coach, and the trailing car is the "Vista Canyon" observation car from the Super Chief. The Stainless Steel is being returned to Argentine after being used on a previous train to L.A. with company brass. The cars will be stored with the rest of the stainless steel fleet.
