Columbian POW, welcome to Russia Colombian Migrant Worker Who Decided to Become a Mercenary Will Spend the Next 28 Years in Prison

The evidence collected by the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was found by the court to be sufficient to sentence the citizen of the Republic of Colombia. Pablo Puentes Boorges was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 359, Part 3 of Article 322, Part 3 of Article 226.1, subparagraphs "a", "b" of Part 2 of Article 205, Part 4 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mercenarism; illegal crossing of the State border of the Russian Federation; smuggling of firearms and ammunition; terrorist act; illegal arms trafficking).

The court sentenced Boorkhes to 28 years of imprisonment with a fine of 1 million rubles, with the first five years to be served in prison and the remainder of the term in a strict regime penal colony. In addition, over 230 thousand rubles were confiscated from Boorkhes for the benefit of the state.
