Grace Came, Glory is Coming

After Paul and his team had preached the gospel throughout the island of Crete, he left Titus to establish churches there.

The inhabitants of Crete were notorious for their bad behaviour, especially their lying. ‘To live as a Cretan’ was synonymous with being a habitual liar.

Paul quoted a well-known saying from one of their own people which said, ‘Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons’ (Titus 1:12). Is there any hope for people like this? Yes! Because the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more.
