The CIA has released 54 newly declassified documents related to the 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, following an executive order from former President Trump aimed at increasing transparency.

The 1,450 pages include intelligence reports, interagency correspondence, and CIA responses to the killing.

One document, over 800 pages, details the global investigation into assassin Sirhan Sirhan’s background and motives, CBS News has reported.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe and RFK’s son, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., praised the release as a step toward government accountability.
