Israel launched early Friday strikes on Iran’s capital, targeting nuclear facilities and raising fears of all-out war. This marks the most significant attack Iran has faced since the 1980s war with Iraq, with multiple sites across the country hit.

Israel’s military reported using 200 fighter jets in ongoing operations. Over 100 targets have been struck with more than 330 munitions, according to IDF spokesperson Effie Defrin, who described the attacks as “part of a precise and synchronized operation.”

Israeli officials claim the strikes eliminated Iran’s armed forces chief of staff Mohammad Bagheri, senior nuclear scientists, and IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami. Senior commander Gholamali Rashid and nuclear officials Fereydoun Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi were also reportedly killed.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “Operation Rising Lion” targeted Iran’s main enrichment facility at Natanz, nuclear scientists, and the core of Iran’s ballistic missile program.
