Alright so the album opens with an incredibly dissonant intro with some really mournful riffing that surrounds you in black desolation with its deep depressing atmosphere.. then a really dark chanting keyboard note is played overtop with Hildolfs tortured gaps in the background underneath it all and it opens the album really well and let’s you know what kind of emotional hell you are in for ladies and gentleman. What is really interesting is how schizophrenic and mentally nauseating this all sounds when its combined. Its very chaotic and ill sounding compositionally and it works very well to create a truly disturbing effect on the listener.
Next up is the opener “Uncontrollable Despair” which is exactly like its namesake. Dissonant cold chilling riffs that convey emotional unease at its most intense delivery and intentions. Double bass inhuman drumming and simplistic patterns signify a great deal of anxiety and unease and disassociation that completely make you feel like your being pulled further and further into a state of complete despondency with no awareness of the world around you and your slowly becoming ash so to speak and this world seems all to real to you as the song continues. Emotionally this is an unfolding of Hildolfs deep hopelessness and utter ice cold fucking misanthropy and its executed absolutely fucking perfect here ladies and gentleman. The raw ice cold production is immaculate and wouldn’t work any other way.

The vocals are like nails on a fucking chalk board and if you do not like raw black metal then these vocals will drive you insane and make you turn off the album. Everything going on in this track all works together to induce an extreme state of despair suicidal psychosis. There is a break in the song where a very mournful clean riff repeats with a deep sea sick despair filled keyboard pattern repeats over and over and this is absolutely breathtaking in the literal sense and then it frantically explodes like a panic attack inducing states of strong terror, fear, and suicidal anguish all backed by his absolutely sick nauseating vocals that close out the track with an absolutely hypnotic mesmerizing intensity where all the insturments combine to give that feeling of schizophrenic isolated despair and its fucking perfect. One of the best openers on a DSBM album in my humble opinion!

Next up is the track “Born” and it instantly pummels you frantic anxiety inducing super fast drumming and shrill ice cold vocals and riffs that sound like theyre coming from a chilling state of pain and fear. Riffing is so savage and ice cold that you feel like your in a storm of darkness, and pain filled screams of the souls of the lost and forgotten. The double bass patterns slowly steady this sea sick voyage straight into the depths of mental fragility and suicidal misanthropic hopelessness. The hypnotic riffing and mournful dark cold keyboards will keep you entranced for the entire duration of the song. Hildolfs vocals are easily one of the stand out elements of the album almost like they are another instrument entirely only adding to this albums already misanthropic miserable and intolerant approach and composition. A lot of darkness and cold isolated hatred emits from this album and hildolf is NOT concerned with how much you will enjoy this album. He is concerned with making you literally feel every ounce of hopelessness and misanthropic despair that he has coursing throughout his veins. The frantic blasting only adds to the chaos and absolute mental insanity that hildolf does such a incredible job of conveying.
