Alright so the album opens with the track Mass Corruption which immediately hits you very hard with its infectious groove riffing and powerful drums from Eddy. Bass can be heard very well on this record which I appreciate. Double bass kicks turn up the intensity on this track with a vicious vocal delivery from Joe as well. Matt’s guitars are also played with incredible precision and offer up some great variety, He dives into a really killer solo which is something we didn’t get on the previous Pissing Razors offering which is definitely a breath of fresh air here. Ricks’ bass riffing reminds me of Rex brown in a lot of ways on this track and in fact as a whole this album really has a lot in common with Pantera’s Vulgar Display Of Power in terms of composition and overall intensity and song structuring and it gives this record a much more serious tonality and overall vibe in my opinion.

This is a really great opener and I already like this album more than their Self titled record. Next up is “Truth In Disguise” and my god am I ever reminded of Pantera with this one right down to Joe’s vocals on this one… This is incredibly infectious and powerful as riffing on this one really reminds me of Dimebag Darrell. Drumming here from Eddy Garcia is very well done and I can instantly feel a lot more passion on this record and it definitely feels like there was a lot more thought and emotion put forth on this album. The effort on this track is outstanding and it had me headbanging quite hard as Eddie’s double bass and incredibly powerful drums instantly make you want to lose your mind.

This is groove metal at it’s best and once again we get another killer solo lead from Matt on this track however it’s a bit short lived and I wish it was a bit longer because Matt is a killer guitarist! This is another killer song and its really powerful in my opinion. This is definitely shaping up to be a really killer album so far guys! Next up is Survival of time and this one is an all out balls to the wall groove fest with crushing heaviness and intensity. It fills me with positivity and belief in myself and I really think that’s what this album is trying to get across which is triumph over all of your problems and challenges in life so that you can move forward and get better despite what you might have been going through.

There is definitely a lot of anger and rage on this album and its expressed brilliantly and does not feel forced or planned out in any way as the entire album has felt very organic and in depth at this point and I think this is the album where The Pissing Razors were really hitting their stride…. So guys lets check out Survival Of Time…….. and were back and yeah this is an intense headbanger that will have you banging your skull until your neck is sore as hell.

This is another killer song on CAST DOWN THE PLAGUE and so far is my favorite. There is another short but cool solo once again by Matt as well, every musician on this outing is tight as hell! I cannot emphasize this enough when I say that this effort is so much more well composed, thought out and executed. The instrumentation and emotion on this album is absolutely incredible and unparalleled and is quickly becoming one of my favorite groove metal albums. Great fucking job Eddy and co. This is killer guys… Next up is the title track –Cast Down The Plague- And my god this is another groove masterpiece with some really killer thrash drumming from Eddy and some awesome triple double kick timing and I kind of get a bit of a Fear factory feel on this one once again mixed with that groovy infection of Pantera influence and it smacks you in the face with catchy riffing, intense drumming and a fist pumping anthem like chorus and its godamned awesome!

Things pick up in intensity as the song goes on and it pulls you into its overall mood and groove and does not let up with its emotional intensity either, This album is convicted as hell and The Pissing Razors are definitely here to stay with this record all I can say is wow man this is another killer groove metal masterpiece and I really hope this band gets bigger because they certainly deserve it!
