Biochemistry Introduction

Biochemistry is the study of chemical substances and chemical processes that occur in living organisms. These chemical substances include proteins, lipids or fats, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. Biochemistry is the area of intersection of chemistry with biology. The microscale biological sciences include biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics. All these fields assume the existence of life, and are studies of life processes and products.
