Catholics can prove Purgatory with the Bible - Praying for the dead

I wanted to focus in on the Bible passage that most directly points to Purgatory – that being the 2nd letter of Maccabees chapter 12 verse 46 where it states that it is “a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they be loosed from their sins. Not sure you can get more direct than that!
