So tonights album ranking is on one of my favorite extreme metal bands with Strapping Young Lad. Strapping Young Lad were active between the years of 1994-1998 and split up for 4 years then reformed in 2002 and were active again until 2007. Now a lot of people wondered why SYL split up, as I did myself.

This was due to Devin Townsend wanting to distance himself from the toxic negativity that he felt when making SYL’s music. His fragile mental state whilst recording all of SYL’s material was pure madness to say they least so I completely understand his reasons for wanting to quit doing SYL.
