“No Kings” Shooter Identified, Trump Responds.
Brooklyn Park, MN, June 14, 2025 — Authorities have now identified 57-year-old Vance Boulter as the suspect behind a deadly political attack in Minnesota that left one Democratic state lawmaker and her husband dead, and another lawmaker and his wife wounded. Law enforcement confirms Boulter was driving a fake police vehicle equipped with sirens, flashing lights, and wearing gear—including a badge and Taser—that mimicked a real officer’s uniform. Inside the vehicle, police recovered a chilling manifesto and a hit list of additional targets, along with flyers bearing the slogan “No Kings,” referencing the ongoing anti-Trump protests spreading nationwide.
The violence unfolded in the early morning hours when police were called around 2:00 a.m. to the home of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, both of whom had been shot. Officers then made a precautionary check on former House Speaker Melissa Hortman, who lived nearby. There, they encountered a police SUV in the driveway—only to be met by the suspect himself, impersonating law enforcement. A firefight ensued, during which Boulter managed to flee, abandoning the vehicle and leaving behind damning evidence.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has described the incident as a “politically motivated assassination,” as federal agents and local authorities ramp up an urgent manhunt. The FBI has joined state police in the search, calling it an “all-hands-on-deck” effort.
President Trump issued a statement following his briefing on the attack:
“I have been briefed on this terrible shooting that took place in Minnesota, which appears to be a targeted attack against state lawmakers. Our Attorney General Pam Bondi and the FBI are investigating the situation. They will be prosecuting anyone involved to the fullest extent of the law. Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America. God bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place.”
The vehicle left at the scene contained printed materials connected to anti-Trump “No Kings” protest groups, suggesting deeper political coordination or ideological motivation. Investigators have not ruled out accomplices or broader links to organized extremism. Photos released by Minnesota State Patrol show the interior of the fake squad car and the scattered flyers, reinforcing growing concern about targeted political violence.
The suspect, Vance Boulter, remains at large.
