HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

ARE YOU A GOOD FATHER?
ALL MEN ARE MALES BUT
NOT ALL MALES ARE MEN.
ALL MALES WITH CHILDREN ARE FATHERS,
BUT NOT ALL FATHERS ARE MEN.
ALL GOOD FATHERS ARE MEN AND
THEY’RE OFTEN CALLED DADDY.
The Marines need a few good men, but America needs a lot of good fathers!
It’s not hard to become a father, but it’s hard to be a good one.
It doesn’t take a lot of time to become a father, but it takes a lifetime to be one.
Becoming a father isn’t always a matter of choice, but being a good one is.
You can’t be a good father if you’re not a good husband.
We should be taking advantage of every opportunity to fill our minds with knowledge and truth. We lose the chance to honor and glorify Christ if we are not prepared for the challenges and tests that are sure to come our way.
If you are not nourishing your mind and soul with truth and knowledge every day in these times that are evil, you will falter and fail.

God gave you authority over the family, therefore TAKE CHARGE!
1.Hopefully, this standard was discussed and accepted by your wife before you were married. If it wasn’t, this is a good time for her to learn how God intends marriage and family to operate under the chain of command He has ordained. (Ephesians 5:22-6:4)
2. Since God gave you the leadership role of your family, if things are out of kilter, who is to blame?
3. Men who whine and complain about their households demonstrate that they are not in charge, or they are a
lousy leader.
4. The best way to be a good father is to be a good example. Good leaders don’t expect more of those under their charge than what they expect of themselves. If you give them love, respect, encouragement, and praise, you more than likely will get the same in return.
5. Two principles to remember:
a. It is normal for subordinates to test those who have authority over them but if you don’t assert your authority, you’ll lose it. But even worse, they will lose respect for you.
b. You get exactly what you expect from those under your authority. If you let subordinates be sloppy, lazy, and mediocre, they won’t like or respect you, nor themselves.
6. You don’t have to be a tyrant or dictator to get a lot from those who are responsible to you. You only need to be firm and fair. You shouldn’t feel guilty for making rules and seeing that they are followed. That is you job.
7. Your wife’s respect for you will help teach your children to show proper respect
1. By not correcting or overruling your decisions or what you say.
2. By not giving you orders, shouting, or talking down to you.
3. By treating you like you are the King of the castle. Your wife’s respect for you will help teach your children to show proper respect.
TIME: You can’t squeeze an hour in here and there when it is convenient for you to be with your children, call it quality time, and think all is well. You must make special time for them. It is your duty. They are worth it and you will BE very glad you did someday.

God wisely provided complementary roles for fathers and mothers, choosing to trust primary responsibility to fathers.”
