WITT: “You have not only the governor, but Minnesota state police saying, look, we don’t want people going out to these demonstrations, these No Kings plans demonstration out of a precaution for safety. That said, it, for some, will just bottle up inside their aggravation and their frustration. Do you worry that that can come back to haunt them down the road?”
D’AMICO: “Well, of course. I mean, exercising your First Amendment rights, it allows you to vent. It allows you to feel that you’re doing something. Your voice is being heard. So I think it’s good to do that. And like you said, now, especially with the unknown circumstances around these, these murders, that you’re not allowed to go out there when you thought you were can then, you know, pent up that anger more. And that’s just dangerous. And, you know, they do have the supposed manifesto, is what the chief had called it with other politicians names on there, and I think they really have to look at what’s in common with all of them, because it could be something that we’re looking at differently. But all those politicians on there may have voted one way on some type of bill. They may have done something. It may be something that we’re not seeing. And those fliers were in there for a different reason. So it’s always, as an investigator, you have to keep your eyes open and let the facts that you come across dictate what you’re looking for, because if you start looking and say, well, it’s this before you have all the knowledge, then you have a tendency to go down the wrong road and your investigation can get skewed.”
