From November 1982-May 1984, Robert Smith was a Banshee. Siousxsie and the Banshees and related band member projects produced some incredible work during that period. In some ways, Robert Smith seemed happier with The Banshees than he was playing with The Cure. Siouxsie and Robert had a fruitful musical relationship which revitalized both The Banshees and The Cure, But it couldn’t last forever. In this video we’ll tell the story of Robert’s time with The Banshees, the antics of the players, and how this unique musical moment energized and revitalized both bands and artists involved. We’ll also discuss the connections and tensions, creating a golden period of musical output that was doomed to end eventually.
