God Wants YOU in His Army!

Over the weekend, America celebrated the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army. God has an Army too and He wants you in it!

We have been called to be warriors for Christ to take territory away from darkness and to defend territory that belongs to Christ. We read in Ephesians 6:12,

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Those spiritual forces of evil relentlessly attempt to invade every sector of this world: our families, workplace, schools, churches, government, media, and entertainment.

It is up to us to hold our ground in Jesus Christ and battle all invasions and be proactive in preventing invasions. Jesus has given us the authority to wage battle as He tells us in Luke 10:19,

"I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you."

God has equipped us with an armor to confront these battles as Apostle Paul teaches us in Ephesians 6:10-11,

“[10] be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. [11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

We must remain proactive and be watchful as we read in 1 Peter 5:8,

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

The devil prowls around looking for any opportunity to invade so, as warriors in God's Army, we must be viligent, keeping a careful watch for possible danger and invasions.

We must be prepared for battle by knowing God's word, being diligent in seeking wisdom, understanding and knowledge from God and being consistent in prayer. Apostle Paul teaches in 2 Timothy 4:2,

"be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction."

We must stand in God's truth and stand for God's truth. We must not tolerate the twisting and manipulation of God's truth or His creation. When we battle, we battle with God's truth which is to be buckled around our waist as we read in Ephesians 6.

Finally, we must never shrink back. We read in Hebrews 10:36-39,

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what is promised. For, ‘In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay...I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.’ But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith...”

So…
Let us be the warriors who God has called us to be in His army.
Let us take the authority Christ has given us to trample and overcome the enemy.
Let us be equipped at all times by putting on the full armor of God.
Let us be proactive as we defend territory and take back territory from the spiritual forces of evil.
Let us be prepared for battle in season and out of season.
Let us stand unwavering for God’s truth.
Let us never rest on our laurels and never shrink back.
AND Let us victoriously run towards the enemy with the loud battle cry of "Charge!!" because, with Christ, we already have the victory guaranteed!
