Friday the 13th, along with many other associations that the number 13 can make (such as the 13th floor of a building, Tarot Trump XIII, Death), is an ominous portent of misfortune to many Western people. The point of origin for this superstition is often cited as the Last Supper, due to the fact that Judas Iscariot was the 13th person to take his seat at the table. In Spain, Tuesday the 13th is the unlucky day. So why Friday the 13th in the US and Europe? For the answer to that, we must look to the Templars and King Phillip the VI of France.
