In today’s video, I react to Olga Loiek’s jaw-dropping story, “Somebody Cloned Me in China…”, where she reveals how AI stole her identity, cloned her voice, and made her appear fluent in Mandarin—promoting Russian propaganda and goods on Chinese platforms.

A 21-year-old Ukrainian student (and YouTuber) discovered AI avatars of her online—appearing under names like “Natasha,” “Sofia,” and more—speaking fluent Mandarin and praising China-Russia relations.

These clones appeared in over 4,900 videos across 35 fake accounts, promoting Russian goods and political messages she never endorsed.

She saw herself saying things she never said—like glorifying Russia and promoting marriage to Chinese men—in a language she didn’t speak.

Her face and voice were used for propaganda, without consent, exploiting her identity for commercial and political influence.

This is a form of cognitive warfare—a weaponized deepfake campaign targeting her image for propaganda and profit.

It highlights the complete lack of consent and control individuals have over their own likeness and voice in the AI era.

We urgently need stronger regulation and accountability around AI-generated media and unauthorized identity usage.
