Aka Manto, also known as Red Cloak, is a Japanese urban legend about a malevolent spirit who haunts public or school bathrooms, specifically the last stall in female restrooms. He is described as wearing a red cloak and a mask, and his presence is announced by a voice asking the occupant to choose between red or blue paper (or cloak/cape in some versions). Choosing red results in fatal lacerations, while choosing blue leads to strangulation or exsanguination. Ignoring him, rejecting both options, or escaping the bathroom are said to be the only ways to survive.
