Air India Crash: Boeing 787 Under Scrutiny, Several Flights Cancelled | Spotlight | N18G
Boeing, is grappling with a renewed crisis of confidence surrounding its 787 Dreamliner fleet. This comes in the wake of a horrific Air India crash in Ahmedabad, which killed at least 270 people. The Ahmedabad tragedy, involving a London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that crashed seconds after takeoff, has triggered widespread alarm. In a direct consequence of the escalating concerns, Air India has cancelled its Delhi-Paris and Ahmedabad-London flights on Tuesday (June 17). Over the past few days, various other Boeing flights returned to the port of departure soon after taking off. The Ahmedabad crash has prompted a flurry of activity from aviation authorities. India's Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) initially considered a complete grounding of all 787 Dreamliners but ultimately opted for enhanced inspections.
