WHY DOES WESTERN MEDIA UNETHICALLY PROTECT ISRAEL?

On 12 June, Israel launched an illegal offensive against Iran, striking multiple sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam. In one residential complex alone, Israeli missiles k*lled at least 60 people, including 20 children. Israel also struck nuclear and missile facilities, k*lling over 104 people and injuring nearly 380 people, according to Anadolu Agency. Those strikes k*lled senior Iranian military commanders and scientists.

Despite the unprovoked attack, Western media outlets overwhelmingly frame it as Israel responding to a supposed Iranian threat.

In this clip, journalist Mehdi Hasan (@mehdirhasan on X), founder of news outlet Zeteo (@Zeteo_News on X), called out this media hypocrisy and the double standard on nuclear weapons. Iran possesses no known nuclear weapons as was recently confirmed by US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who stated in March that the ‘intelligence community continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon.’ On the other hand, the Arms Control Association confirms Israel has at least 90 nuclear warheads, while its ally, the United States, has 5,225.

Moreover, Israel has violated multiple United Nations resolutions concerning nuclear transparency and non-proliferation. It remains one of only four countries never to have signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), and it has long refused to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect its nuclear facilities.
