Copper and magnets

Copper is not magnetic, but creates resistance in the presence of a strong magnetic field, causing the magnet to stop for a moment even before it touches the copper.

The Ancients knew this and more. It may seem like a simple experiment but all these reactions to different metals are very important. What do you think?
