According to several news outlets, a discovery concerning Antarctica was made on June 15th of this year. The Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna or "ANITA" for short, is a NASA (and therefore taxpayer funded experiment) that is made to detect ultra-high energy particles interacting with the ice sheet. Though the Antarctic is functionally off limits to the public, ANITA soars some 37k meters above the ice looking for transient radio signals via a high-altitude balloon with suspended antennas. However, ANITA picked up what are known as neutrinos coming up from beneath the earth.
These subatomic particles are massless and pass through space and matter without any issue but are often referred to as "ghost particles" because of this. What these articles failed to note is that neutrinos are produced in nuclear reactions, during radioactive
decay, and in particle accelerators. This omission has left the public struggling to understand a model of physics beyond what we know as the "Standard Model". Now, unless a permit is granted military activity is banned under the Antarctic Treaty that was signed
in 1959. And certainly, satellites or other distinct nuclear signatures would have been detected. But it could be faulty equipment. The findings could've been misinterpreted. Or it could be the
decay of Dark Matter. It could be a parallel universe interacting with our own. But in any case, it should not have been able to pass through Earth's interior without first being absorbed.
So, what's lurking beneath the Earth? Secret alien bases? Labs or perhaps, portals? Fallen angels? Atlantis? Is it hollow?
Or just another government grift.
