What It’s Like to Die on Every Planet

In 1982, the Soviet spacecraft Venera-13 broke through the poisonous clouds of sulfuric acid and landed on the surface of the most unforgiving planet in the Solar System: Venus. The pressure there is enough to crush a submarine, the heat melts lead, and the sky is shrouded in clouds saturated with acid.
Yet even in this hell, Venera-13 survived for a record 127 minutes, transmitting images and data until the extreme heat and unbearable pressure destroyed it. The probe was designed to withstand any earthly catastrophe, but Venus proved to be far more formidable than scientists had imagined.
Now, imagine a human standing on the surface of this infernal world. How long would they last… and what would kill them first? Let’s find out.
