Matthew 15 opens with Yeshua confronting the Pharisees over ritual handwashing, challenging their traditions with Isaiah 29:13 for honoring God outwardly while neglecting inward devotion. He teaches that true defilement comes from within—evil thoughts and actions—shifting the focus from ritual to moral purity (Isaiah 1, Hosea 6).

Next, a Canaanite woman’s faith leads Yeshua to heal her daughter, showing both the primacy of Israel and the eventual inclusion of the nations (Isaiah 56). The chapter ends with the miraculous feeding of 4,000 in mostly Gentile territory of the Decapolis, symbolizing God's provision extending beyond Israel.
