What happens when we die?

I Thessalonians 4:13 tells us that God doesn't want us ignorant concerning them which are alseep. "He went home to be with the Lord," "She's in a better place now," "God now has another rose petal in heaven" have two things in common. They are spoken by Christians and they never appear in scripture.
