At least 40 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza, says health ministry

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry has said that at least 40 people have been killed by Israeli fire on Wednesday, including 14 who were seeking aid in central Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces said that despite repeated warnings that the area was an active combat zone, individuals approached troops in a manner that posed a threat to forces.

More than 51 Palestinians were killed and hundreds others injured on Tuesday when Israeli forces opened fire using tanks and drones at an aid distribution site in southern Gaza, witnesses and rescuers said.
